You might try the Apply to Bone Heat option on re-parenting the rig to the armature. Otherwise, your best bet to test the rig bone by bone.

I assume you are creating vertex groups from bone heat. If you create the vertex groups for your figure first by parenting the figure to the armature using bone heat, you can then select parts of the figure in edit mode, duplicate those parts with existing vertex groups, make them a separate object (p key), and form them into the clothes. Alt s, in edit mode, will usually make them just big enough to fit over your figure. For tight fitting clothes, you can simply use a shrinkwrap modifier. This modifier will match your figure's movements. The offset will make the clothes look looser or tighter. You can also give your figure a transparent material beneath the clothed area to eliminate any small errors.
There may be better way to solve the problem but these are the methods I have used. Hope this is helpful.

It worked perfectly fine

i also did a simple but working facial rig

i also saw some amazing stuff on a youtube video
about a hand rig, where you select the hand bones and if you press "S" key, the hand bones bend/close
which gets useful to animate hands because hands only close and open.

Anyways, can someone make/link me to a tutorial about this?
i searched already but only stuff i don't need came up

Kernon Dillon does excellent videos. Look at his other videos at:
