can someone please tell me how can i set keys for vertex/edge/face selection modes while i m in edit mode.
control + tab is little tedious for me...

But be careful, tutorial and other explanations will probably use the 'standard' short-cuts.

If a change is useful to you, maybe you use 'two' versions of Blender 2.5 (or you have a good memory for the 'standard').
